This chicken bread recipe really makes it easy to make the best bread at home. You don’t need to go to a school to learn how to make chicken bread at home. If you really want to do it then just follow this recipe and you will not go wrong. The filling inside the chicken bread is totally up to you. Many people like to add their own special touch by adding extra spices or just using leftovers to make the bread filling.


For Dough:

  • Flour 2 cups
  • Yeast instant 1 & ½ tsp
  • Sugar 1 & ½ tsp
  • Salt 1 Tsp
  • Milk (room temp) ¼ cup
  • Oil 5-6 TBS
  • Water(warm) 5-6 TBS or as required

For Chicken:

  • Butter 2 TBS
  • Onion Chopped 2 TBS
  • All-purpose flour ¼ cup
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Black pepper powder ½ tsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Chicken Boiled & shredded 1 & ½ cup
  • Green coriander 2 TBS
  • Capsicum 2 TBS
  • Olives 2 TBS


  • Chicken filling
  • Egg1+ Milk 1 Tsp
  • Nigella seeds as required
  • Sesame seeds as required


  1. In the bowl, add all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt, mix well. Make a well, add milk and gradually add oil and mix it with the help of hands. Add warm water (as required), mix and knead well until all ingredients are combined. Take dough, punch and knead it again and grease the dough with oil. Cover and leave the dough for 1 & 1 ½ hour in a warm place. Knead the dough again, cover and rest again for 30 minutes. Bread dough is ready.
  2. Boil the chicken with salt and black pepper powder, shredded and set aside. In a pot, add butter, let it melt then add onion and sauté little. Add all-purpose flour and sauté until its color changes. Remove from heat, add milk, whisking continuously to avoid any lumps formation. Bring back on the heat, add black pepper powder, salt and mix it. Add boiled and shredded chicken, green coriander, capsicum, olives and mix well. In filling, you can use vegetables or mince (any of your choice).
  3. Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape with the help of rolling pin. Place the filling in the center of the dough. Make slits/cuts with the help of knife on both of the longer sides. Start bringing the topmost slit ends across from each other alternately. Keep going, remember to alternate, left to right and right to left. Put dough on a baking tray, apply egg-wash, sprinkle nigella and sesame seeds then bake in a preheated oven at 180 C for about 20-25 minutes. Serve hot. Enjoy!
